| The City of Bellevue and Sound Transit invite you to an open house to explore cost saving options for East Link through Bellevue, Tuesday, June 5, 4-7 p.m., in the City Hall Concourse. |
East Link is a voter-approved project to extend light rail from Seattle, across Lake Washington on Interstate 90, through Bellevue and on to the Overlake Transit Center in Redmond. It is a Sound Transit project, but Bellevue residents, directly and through the City Council and staff, are offering input about the route through Bellevue.

In November 2011, the council signed an agreement with Sound Transit detailing city contributions for a downtown light rail tunnel and design modifications to minimize impacts of the rail line on neighborhoods. The city and the transit agency are now partners in a "collaborative design process" intended to reduce costs, comply with codes and regulations, and finish the project on time.
These web pages provide background and additional information on Bellevue's involvement with East Link. Sound Transit offers its own information about the project. Questions for Sound Transit about the project can be directed to Katie Kuciemba (206-398-5459 or katie.kuciemba@soundtransit.org).
