As the city and region continue to grow, the City of Bellevue identified the need to improve access between downtown and the growing medical district east of Interstate 405. The new section of Northeast 10th Street will provide a better connection to the Overlake Hospital Medical Center campus and the new Group Health Cooperative building, crossing over I-405 between 112th Avenue Northeast and 116th Avenue Northeast.
